SAFETY AND HEALTH COMMITTEE DEVELOPMENT IN ORGANISATION (21-22 Oct 2023)

Malaysia has adopted Roben’s approach in its occupational safety and health
laws. This approach includes an important principle, namely employee
participation. The establishment of safety and health committees at the
workplace enables employee participation in various aspects of occupational
safety and health at the workplace.

In Malaysia, the need for safety and health committees and how a committee
functions in an organization are spelt out in section 31 OSHA 1994, Part III SHCR
1996. The safety and health committee will serve its purpose well when its
functions are effectively implemented. An effective safety and health committee
benefits the employees very much and as well as the organization.

This training has been specially designed to develop the skills to become an
effective safety and health committee member and take the necessary steps to
ensure a well-functioning safety and health committee at the workplace.
